April 2005 Newsletter

The last meeting was held on the 25th February 2005.

We held a baby competition, but unfortunately it was not very well attended. There were no indigenous reptiles on show. A few people brought along their hatchlings and others apparently did not know about the baby competition, even though at the January meeting everyone was informed of this.

Thank you to those who brought babies along.

The end of year function was held at The Rhino and Lion Park near Krugersdorp on the 27th of November. Only a small number of members attended. It was a wonderful outing for families and everyone who attended enjoyed the day thoroughly. A special thanks to all those who helped make the day a success

May 2004 Newsletter

Unfortunately Gustav could not make it and cancelled on the last minute, so the best was made of the time available. Wulf Haacke gave an interesting and detailed talk about taxonomy of reptiles. Arno then finished off the evening with a questions and answer session which was most informative.

July 2003 Newsletter

Casper showed a 5 minute video clip of a rattlesnake sit in. Gustav and Arno then held a questions and answer session whereby the members could ask any questions regarding reptiles. Arno and Gustav gave some answers to these questions. It was very informative and some clarity was given regarding snake venoms and bites, hibernation and importation of exotic reptiles.
